Agrarian Enclave: The Oca Street Bathhouse

This mingle is OTA and can be used like a mini-TDM or meme!

This is another mingle set in Magisteria's Agrarian Enclave, or the Agriculture District. For maximum thirst, it can be combined with the first Enclave mingle, specifically the ambrosial honey. Visitors are welcome to play it as their characters exploring both, either individually or together!

Known throughout the district as a haven for relaxation and wellness, the Oca Street Bathhouse features luxurious hot springs, invigorating steam rooms, and therapeutic pools infused with herbal extracts, all housed in/among rooms with soft, ambient lighting. Visitors may select from among a wide number of "Aqua Aromatics" to produce different sensory experiences.

The Oca Street Bathhouse also offers an impressive number of massage options derived from Otherworlders' ancestral cultures. Whatever your desire, every aspect of the bathhouse is fully customizable for all patrons, lending to a wholesale self-care experience.

[Below are some ideas to get everyone started, though players are of course free to make up their own massage options, bathing rituals, and aromatics! A world like Magisteria would of course have options beyond those from Earth history, but I kept it simple here. Again, feel free to add more!]

Pleasures of all sorts may become quite real within the sensuous sensory-rich environs. Citizens of diverse backgrounds visit this place. Waterfolk of various kin, but also mundane normie humans, elves, faeries, and even some on the tech-forward side.

PCs are free to handwave interactions with amorous locals or with workers at the establishment, who are trained in full-service massage+pleasure work. Random one-off NPCs can be made for this purpose in the location, so go wild! ♥

Plot Key

At some point, Otherworlders might encounter a worker who looks a little uncertain. She’s conversing with elf guy (likely also a worker there).

Otherworlders may overhear the worker say that lately certain of their clientele had been behaving a bit strangely. Unfamiliar women arriving and … there was talk of induction into some group. Otherworlders will overhear her saying she did manage to collect digital business cards for certain individuals/the organization.

If Otherworlders listen closely, they’ll hear concern: these people were kind of giving off… culty vibes.

[ Lucy's had a long day at work. She's used to that, but every job she's had up until now has been either in a legal grey area or completely illegal -- now, however, she has a completely legit job in cyber security at an adult lounge. It feels unusual to do things like get to know her coworkers, and have legally mandated breaks, and not have to look over her shoulder for cops the whole day.

Her commute is very short, given that the lounge hovers right above the Evergreen Terraces apartments, but today she'd decided to wander a little after work, and had found this place. Oca Street Bathhouses; she'd been able to smell the steam and aromatics from the street. A quick trip back to get a bathing suit had been easy enough.

Apparently she's not the only Otherworlder that's had that same idea, which makes her vaguely suspicious they're about to be drugged or kidnapped, so she'll keep an eye out. Until then, Lucy is determined to relax in the hinoki wood bath -- it's framed by dark wood on all sides, stone edges, bamboo so tall she swears she can see it growing. Lucy's bathing suit is perhaps a tiny bit more conservative than one might expect from a person that spends just about all of her time in her apartment naked, but she'd thought it was cute and practical, and that's the only parameters that matter to her. Almost completely backless, it shows off the cybergear in her back, functional as much as it is decorative. Lounging on one side of the bath and seated on an underwater bench, Lucy takes a hit from her verve vape -- she's taken a shine to the club drug, and since she'd been gifted the vape, hey, she's not gonna waste it -- and blows the unscented smoke out slowly, upward, away from anybody else.

She's... feeling good. It's not a feeling she trusts all that much, but she's determined to enjoy it. The verve helps. Makes her feel more connected. ]

Never been to a place like this before. Relaxation wasn't exactly a high priority where I come from.

[ Really cannot believe Lucy is the conservative one up in here. Gilgamesh did not necessarily anticipate encountering her at the baths, but even had he done so, he probably would have taken her for... on the more open side. Futurism stereotypes and all that, right?

It's a testament to the fact that he is rather fond of her that he actually hopes that she is not too weirded out by his own propensity for nudity, but look, he and Musashi are literally from other eras, you know. If it's a problem, something can be arranged conveniently placed steam!!11 , but really, again, futuristic people were easy-going about such matters in a context like this, right? Social norms! ]

Ah... and how is that smoke?

Lucy will probably notice Gilgamesh has been in the cups, too. Different inhibition loss. But he is a little curious about her method, too. It intrigues his imagination. ]

Though I confess, my era had not all such luxuries at such ease of availability. It seems that yours was further along in progress, yet a difficult society.

[ He has gleaned enough overall on this point. She's definitely got a hard edge about her. But she seems to have a hilarously positive opinion of him. Really she likes loyal sorts, huh. ]

"Oooh, first time, eh?" Musashi is likewise availing herself of local stimulants, but in her case it's a bottle of Ambrosial Nut-Gold she picked up. Unlike Lucy, the samurai has opted for the more traditional attire, that is, nothing at all, though the water and steam do give her some appearance of modesty (not that she's trying very hard to be modest).

"Heard some of the girls at work talking about this place. Gonna have to give it to them, they weren't lying about the quality." She's definitely coming back here. Especially if it means she gets to see that cute little number Lucy's wearing. She took in the sight of her cybergear earlier, the intricate pattern in her skin, as fine as the most expertly-painted wall scroll or screen painting.

She finishes her drink and immediately begins pouring herself a new one. "Seems like the visit's working out for you too, Lucy-chan."

[ This bath reminds him of those in the Far East. It feels a little smothering at first to be surrounded by so much bamboo, but the atmosphere is something he ends up growing used to the more he sits and absorbs it.

He's not one for making small conversation usually... But it would be rude to ignore someone who speaks. ]

Oh? A pity. Baths like these are a fixture in most cultures.

[ Submerged in the bath as he is, there's nothing noteworthy to see. If she had watched him entering though, she would have seen the discoloured mark on his front and back that resembles a large scar. Like something had simply...torn through his midriff and out the other side.

There's another mark on his abdomen - a red mark that's vivid against his skin. But this one he is a little more self-conscious about as he enters the bath. ]

Miyamoto Musashi | Fate/Samurai Remnant (cw nudity, intoxication)

Hinoki Wood Bath

Musashi has settled in quite well to working security at one of Magisteria's pleasure houses. It's not too dissimilar from the work she did bodyguarding the geishas back in Yoshiwara, a long time ago (and yet sometimes it doesn't feel that long ago at all). She keeps to the lobby and other main areas, remains visible (as do her swords), and when a customer becomes disrespectful, and she needs to step in she can genuinely subdue them long enough for the proprietor's wife Celestia to arrive and use her aura to calm them down...at which point it becomes quite easy for Musashi to toss them out on their ass, which she does with a smile. She hasn't had much to do with either Passion or Celestia much, but she does like the couple. They're cute together.

And with Lucy-chan working in the control room keeping a discrete eye on things, Musashi can respond to incidents quickly, before they get out of hand. The first time she successfully ejected a customer who had fallen prey to Celestia's charms, the "queen of the netrunners" had even emerged from security to check to see how Musashi was doing, and fist-bump her for a good job.

So far she hasn't had much of a chance to eavesdrop on any of the big name clients, but they're both in a sort of probationary period. If they prove themselves, something the samurai feels they're well on the way to doing, they'll almost assuredly be brought closer in. Closer to interesting people and their wagging tongues. And Musashi's become quite popular with the other employees. She's quickly earned a reputation not just for efficiency, but also for her gallantry, easy to get along with demeanour, and it must be said, for being hot as hell (she trades her usual kimono for a more professional-looking suit when on the job, and that doesn't hurt either). She finds a lot of demands on her free time from the various employees and she's usually willing to oblige; after all they are another source of information she can leverage, when she's not spending time catching up and comparing notes with Lucy. That's safer done away from the Red Roses though, even with Lucy manning the cameras.

The Oca Street Bathhouse is a popular place, and Musashi has been encouraged to give it a visit. A lot of Otherworlders seem to be gravitating there, so it seems as good a time as any.

As soon as she spies the Japanese-style baths, she's kicking herself for not coming sooner. No stranger to this style of relaxation, she's quick to make use of the Hinoki baths, and she does it in the traditional manner; fully nude. Nor is she bothered by wandering about the bath area or interacting with others like this. Though the fact she's also procured a bottle of Ambrosial Bold-Gold might be helping with that a little.

"Hey-hoooo!" Having previously been relaxing, she sees someone going by and waves them down. "Come and join me! The water's delightful, but bathing's best when shared. I'll pour you a drink." Fine liquor, warm water, and plenty to see. What's not to love.

Alternatively, she might slide into a bath already occupied, slipping into the water with a sigh, and a contented stretch; preserving her modesty isn't a concern. "Oooooh, I really did miss this. You don't mind if I join you, right?"

She might take in a massage later, but right now all she wants to really do is soak and drink.

It's not exactly difficult to notice Musashi at the Hinoki baths; she has a rather striking appearance that can turn many heads. He only has a passing familiarity with baths of a similar style but he's never been afraid to ask questions about what is proper custom, so he's as naked as she is when she flags him down.

With a slight tilt of his head he returns the smile, "Alright then," and obligingly approaches and enters the same bath, putting the small towel on his head. "Though I hope you don't mind I refuse the drink."

Gilgamesh completely feels Musashi when it comes to nudity and drinking. Like her, he does not bother with modesty of any sort in such a place. Why would he?

... Well, when he is passing by and hears her invitation, the King of Heroes does find himself thinking that it is one that is rather to his liking. Look, he may not be as hedonistic in this summoning, in theory, but a man still yearns to relax.

"I suppose I can accept such an offer."

He had no doubt procured his own bottle. Put it within his vault, even! As one does. But saying no to free alcohol just was not in Gilgamesh's nature. See also: Iskandar in other timelines.

The train and the chaser... well, though now, the two of them were more naked than then. But still with the indulgences. Well, This is Fine, he supposes.

Nothing says relaxation after a difficult day of beating up tech fauna like an onsen, huh. The King of Heroes must concede with that Berserkashi -- she was swift with the blade, and quite formidable. To see her and Saber (either Saber) squaring off? That would be interesting. Meanwhile, he's kind of more the strategic all-around sort.

--but anyway, enough about that! Let's get to these Japanese hinoki wood baths. Priorities and all.

Just like Musashi, Gilgamesh has spent the morning imbibing the aphro honey wine. Thus, he will be more gregarious. Call you mongrel more nicely or whatever. Though there are even a few Otherworlders here he likes enough to possibly use their names. ]

[Initially, Sumika is hesitant to participate for a variety of reasons, least of all being that she just found herself here after coming to in the wake of a devastating personal realization. There's also the fact she has odd marks on her body, almost akin to sensors or ports meant to align with something else. And on top of that, it feels so... wrong to be here without Takeru.

Yet, what else is she going to do? For a while, she hovers at the water's edge in her towel, not saying anything to anyone around her, until eventually she gives in, folds the towel up, and steps in, immersing herself to her neck. To say she seems down is an understatement; even getting transported to another world like what happened to Takeru wouldn't seem so weird. If anything... it'd be a fitting punishment.

Even so, it's really no fun being alone.

She's getting readings from all around, picking up the comings and goings of people nearby. It's rude to just look into someone's thoughts, she knows that, and she has plenty of control over it; but it's hard to say if anyone else feels the same way about this... predicament.]

[A very sudden question to anyone occupying the bath with her. She's deathly curious and compelled to ask. She's also surprisingly comfortable with the situation for someone in a mixed-sex bath...]

"Couldn't even if I wanted to!" Musashi replies cheerfully, raising her glass of Ambrosia Bold-Gold at Sumika. Her timeline got pruned a long time ago. There's no way for her to go back, even if she could find her way. She's likewise pretty casual for being naked in a mixed bath.

She shotguns the drink and immediately goes about pouring another one. "Been to my fair share of worlds, but Magisteria's a good place to settle down. It's never uninteresting!" She has a second cup, because drinking alone is never fun, and holds it out to Sumika enquiringly.

[ William feels like he's been doing a good job so far respecting the modesty of those in the mixed-gender baths. It's funny, but even though he has always imagined himself settling down with a wife and children, he has yet to see a woman...well, that way. And so a few people may find his apparent comfort with sharing the baths a little odd, but William makes polite and congenial conversation to put them at ease.

The sudden question from Sumika catches him a little off-guard however. ]

Oh, um... Kind of? I know that everyone back home will be fine without me for a little while. They're all very good at their respective jobs. My only worry is if a strong demon attacks and I'm not there to defend my people.

Dr. Veritas Ratio | Honkai Star Rail

[Ratio can easily be found in the bath house, relaxing in one of the hot spring style areas after enjoying a stone massage from one of the employees. A book is open nearby, as the man only stops reading for a short period of time.

For now though, he's sitting, back against the rocks on the side of the water, eyes closed as he enjoys the warmth. A staff member walks in, setting a tray nearby with some tea and food for if he became hungry. He lifts an arm in thanks, not opening his eyes.

He's taking the time to relax and think... taking breaks could help reset the process, give him new ideas with his research.

He stops his thought process when he hears footsteps.]

Well, this is certainly one way to meet someone in the flesh for the first time. Rhea'li cants his head briefly -- he supposes that's... technically an invitation to share the hot spring -- before approaching and slipping into the water. As expected, the warm water is exquisite and he blissfully lets his eyes close for a moment as he enjoys it.]

Not good company? Now, why would that be?

[ By now, Gilgamesh remembers him: the research-oriented attitude, bookishness, and dour demeanor. It is scarcely even surprising to see the other man with a book out, even at such a place. Truly something of a stereotype, it would seem. But Gilgamesh knew scribes and scholars of such a character in his kingdom, or even other heroic spirits in Chaldea who were of such a character. ]

Your research has not been fruitful, one supposes?

[ Gilgamesh simply picks up where they last left off as he settles down un-self-consciously. Needless to say, he has fewer cares at the moment than Ratio probably does.

Gilgamesh tries to remember what they had last discussed. Something about the Fractured quest, and Umbra... ah, yes, he had volunteered to try to find out more, hadn't he? There might be a little more information he can yet provide Ratio with, but certainly Gilgamesh himself does not have all the answers on this one. ]

Nor do I suppose you ever found out who entrusted you to seek such information, hm...

Libra | Fire Emblem: Awakening

[Libra isn't as comfortable with nudity as some of the other Outworlders, so he can be found at the onsen, but he's wrapped in a robe to keep himself covered. (The consequences of being trained as a monk.) He spends most of his time in a sauna area with a towel around his waist, enjoying the Harmonizing Jasmine scent as he relaxes.

He'd overheard some of the employees discussing digital business cards, and was spending time thinking about just what they meant by 'culty' vibes. He'd dealt with one before, so he worried about what they would be up to in the shadows.

But, he would worry more about that later. For now, he leaned his head back and closed his eyes.]

This place is quite relaxing after a while.

[Relaxing... indeed it is, when one isn't being interrupted, which is why he feels somewhat badly for doing so now. However, the alternative would be perhaps even more disruptive. Thus, the similarly much-covered man swallows back his discomfort, and quietly gives voice to his question.]

1. Moroccan Hammam

After much deliberation, Emet-Selch opts for what sounds like a sauna in the 'Moroccan Hammam' - whatever that is. It seems the most similar to what he has experienced in Garlemald (and he had grown quite fond of the custom). Once upon a time he may have been afflicted by a severe case of self-consciousness, but that had long since vanished.

When offered a choice of aromas, he selects the peppermint after some short deliberation. The sharp scent tends to keep him alert. And so that scent will accompany him in this sauna-like treatment.

Emet-Selch finds the warmest part of the room that is still comfortable and leans back with a sigh. He wears only a towel securely wrapped around his waist, leaving the large, discoloured, scar-like area on his stomach (and back, but who can see that right now?) fully visible to anyone passing by. Something that large shouldn't look so neat or so healed. It's almost like it represents a memory of a fatal wound.

The only other mark of note is the tattoo that all Otherworlders have, situated on his abdomen. Basically a womb tattoo.

2. Would you like a 'happy' massage?

Later, you may overhear - or even walk in on - a conversation between one of the bathhouse workers and Emet-Selch.

"No, thank you, I do not need those services."

A smooth voice tries to reassure. "Oh, but are you sure? I know many ways to help you relax..."

The mage is firm. "No. I'm fine. Do not touch me like that again."

Hmm.

Rhea'li is always up for trying new things, which is how he ends up at the Oca Street Bathhouse and after briefly considering the options, selecting the Moroccan Hammam. It sounded... interesting!

But when he strides into the steamy room with naught but a towel around his waist, he's caught completely off guard by the sight of Emet-Selch in a similar state of undress, ears flying up in surprise.

...His gaze immediately slides down to the scar and Rhea'li's mouth moves before his brain has put on its shoes. "Did I do that?"

I. Culty Vibes
[ There's a lot to take in in a large, bustling place like this with people more than a little enthusiastic when it comes to getting people who seem a little out of place to participate. Vash has found himself in the Oca Street Bathhouse much by a series of comical errors as tends to be how most of his life goes. Fortunately for him, while he's

He's seated at a table, a menu of massages in front of him where he's ostensibly supposed to be picking a service, but instead he's listening rather intensely to a conversation going on between two of the employees... something about cults? There's a frown on his lips, but it could be mistaken for confusion over the "menu" in front of him.

He glances from behind his sun glasses, his sharp gaze mostly hidden by the reflectiveness of it, but his attention is pointedly on trying to pick out more of the conversation he was eavesdropping on. He might not even notice if someone comes and sits down with him, and what's WORSE is he might not even answer at first if he's addressed.

Better get his attention. ]

[ Devested of his bright personal security coat, Vash is currently bundled up in at LEAST two towels to cover himself up as much as possible while he's not submerged in bath water from the neck down. Unfortunately for him, it only covers so much, scarred legs and arms peeking from beyond the fluffy towels even as he pads over to the water with the intent to get in.

The ambient heat of it already feels great, and with a sigh he drops the towels on a bench to keep them mostly dry and sinks into the water with an audible groan. He keeps his prosthetic arm out of the water, head lolling back as he truly does sink up to his neck in the water. It's only after a moment or two that he opens his eyes and glances around him to realize he's uh. Not alone.

There's a dramatic gasp and Vash sputters as he almost breathes in the water. He flails, the water splashing as he puts room between himself and his new bathtime friend. ]

S-sorry! Haha! Thought I was alone! [ Hope you don't mind a little company? He laughs, brows pinched up with the tone of his voice sounding both apologetic and more than a little mortified. ]

Bathtime

Musashi just grins and raises a glass to Vash in greetings. She's reclining back against the rim of the tub, where a bottle sits waiting. And while she only has one towel vs Vash's two, she does have one.

It's folded up next to the bottle.

"No worries! You looked like you were enjoying yourself. Didn't want to interrupt." Sorry Vash, but she definitely looks when he jumps up. If every scar tells a story, then this guy is an absolute library. She's gotta get to know this guy better.

"No need to be shy! Come, come, have a drink with me." She did bring two glasses just in case, and she turns to reach for it and the bottle to pour for him.

1. Hinoki Wood Bath

Okay. Okay, there's a snowball's chance in hell that William is missing out on a chance to experience an onsen derived from his previous country of origin. Even though he has well and truly adapted to his new life (and life in Magisteria), surely he can be allowed this tiny, little indulgence?

The best time for a bath is, of course, after a good training session. He comes in after his usual routine, muscles aching and smelling...well, probably like someone who has just emerged from a gym. But that will soon be rectified!

William strips down without any self-consciousness at all, wrapping a towel around his waist for courtesy's sake before heading to the showers to do a pre-bath rinse. Those in the same area may hear him humming a quiet but happy little tune to himself as he goes through the motions. Once he feels clean, he finally makes his way over to the wooden baths and slips in with a deep sigh of satisfaction. If possible, he'd pick a spot that's unoccupied, but with how popular this place seems to be with the locals, it's possible he's picked a spot next to another Otherworlder.

"Hot baths really are the best... Don't you think?"

2. Elemental Stone Massage

With his nostalgia satisfied, he decides to try something different on another day. Massages are not really something he's experienced, so he opts for one that seems the least invasive to start with.

"I wonder if this could improve our ability to use magic," he wonders aloud to whoever may be next to him. "If it's like acupuncture which is meant to target key points on the body, then an elemental stone massage would do something similar, right...?"

Although it might be seen as rude, when presented with a hypothesis, Erichthonios finds it difficult to ignore a chance to delve into matters of theory.

"I cannot say that I am familiar with acupuncture, though I daresay a stone will be less precise than a puncturing instrument. Mayhap it means to use increased pressure over a general area or an exchange of heat into the tissues... 'Twould work well to balance a body whose aspect has shifted too far towards ice. Or one overly tense."

Hand poised at his chin, Erichthonios continues to ponder aloud.

"If the difficulty in using magick stems from an imbalance in the body that would be corrected with a fire-aspected heat, it may very well improve one's ability. Although care will be needed to make certain the body does not fall into imbalance again..."

I. Meanwhile, outside...

Lingering some several yards yalms from the entrance, Erichthonios observes the Oca Street Bathhouse with interest. 'Tis an inviting presence, evoking something of a sense of calm in comparison to the incessant visual overstimulation of the more technologically-inclined parts of the city. A proper bath sounds nice. Very nice, but he hasn't worked up the courage to investigate further just yet.


II. Observations

Once inside, Erichthonios quickly immerses himself in reading, pouring over details about the place and all it has to offer -- a course of action that has him gently fluster as soon as he reaches the portion covering massages. The thought of someone laying hands on him -- a stranger, of all things -- spurs a quiet discomfort, the bright-haired man wincing. It's intimate. Too intimate for him.

His reaction is enough to spark some gentle teasing from a random client, and he shoots them a perturbed, if mayhap slightly pouting, look.

The tension passes, though, and he soon returns to reading. Past the massages, and onto the baths, and then the list of aromatics-- he pauses at the Rose selection, then colors faintly, a hint of red touching his cheeks before quickly moving on.

III. Therapeutic Pool

Shy creature that he is, Erichthonios does not opt to go publicly naked in a very public bath. Rather, he retires to a much smaller room, dipping into sunken bath with heated water, the fragrance of heady sandalwood and sweet jasmine rising with the steam, a few stray jasmine flowers floating atop the water's surface as he soaks.

A worker comes in to check on him now and then, the skittish Erichthonios dunking down into the water so deeply each time that only nose and eyes remain above, nods for yes and head shakes for no to each question asked of him -- is everything well, is the water to his liking, does he need anything else? Yes, yes, and no.

'Twould be more relaxing, he thinks, if he could but bathe alone in peace, even though he simultaneously frets that it might be rude to ask to not be disturbed for a while.

Alas, the door is unlocked, and anyone might wander in.

And wander in someone does. That someone just so happens to be Azem in their masculine form. A form that is not different from their feminine form overall, just you know, the parts are different.

Azem enters not looking to see if anyone is in the room until the door is shut behind them and they've dropped the towel from around their waist. It's as they step away from the discarded towel that they finally look up and notice Erichthonios in the water.

"Oh, I didn't realize the room was occupied." Despite this revelation, they continue to stand there with no attempt to recover themself.

☉ Massage Options

[ While the offered bathing options are interesting and something Azem will happily explore at some point, they're far more interested in the various massages. Picking one, however, is quite tough as one doesn't want to be too overindulgent.

As they look over what's offered they decide to get someone else's opinion, after all, they may be knowledgeable. ]

[ Later, Azem can be found soaking in one of the public baths, a small tray with a couple of cups and hot sake set up within reach. They look thoroughly relaxed, practically melting into the steaming hot water.

So relaxed, in fact, that they don't immediately notice anyone joining in the bath. When they finally do they lift their head and offer a smile. ]
