Agrarian Enclave: The Oca Street Bathhouse

This mingle is OTA and can be used like a mini-TDM or meme!

This is another mingle set in Magisteria's Agrarian Enclave, or the Agriculture District. For maximum thirst, it can be combined with the first Enclave mingle, specifically the ambrosial honey. Visitors are welcome to play it as their characters exploring both, either individually or together!

Known throughout the district as a haven for relaxation and wellness, the Oca Street Bathhouse features luxurious hot springs, invigorating steam rooms, and therapeutic pools infused with herbal extracts, all housed in/among rooms with soft, ambient lighting. Visitors may select from among a wide number of "Aqua Aromatics" to produce different sensory experiences.

The Oca Street Bathhouse also offers an impressive number of massage options derived from Otherworlders' ancestral cultures. Whatever your desire, every aspect of the bathhouse is fully customizable for all patrons, lending to a wholesale self-care experience.

[Below are some ideas to get everyone started, though players are of course free to make up their own massage options, bathing rituals, and aromatics! A world like Magisteria would of course have options beyond those from Earth history, but I kept it simple here. Again, feel free to add more!]

Pleasures of all sorts may become quite real within the sensuous sensory-rich environs. Citizens of diverse backgrounds visit this place. Waterfolk of various kin, but also mundane normie humans, elves, faeries, and even some on the tech-forward side.

PCs are free to handwave interactions with amorous locals or with workers at the establishment, who are trained in full-service massage+pleasure work. Random one-off NPCs can be made for this purpose in the location, so go wild! ♥

Plot Key

At some point, Otherworlders might encounter a worker who looks a little uncertain. She’s conversing with elf guy (likely also a worker there).

Otherworlders may overhear the worker say that lately certain of their clientele had been behaving a bit strangely. Unfamiliar women arriving and … there was talk of induction into some group. Otherworlders will overhear her saying she did manage to collect digital business cards for certain individuals/the organization.

If Otherworlders listen closely, they’ll hear concern: these people were kind of giving off… culty vibes.

[ While the offered bathing options are interesting and something Azem will happily explore at some point, they're far more interested in the various massages. Picking one, however, is quite tough as one doesn't want to be too overindulgent.

As they look over what's offered they decide to get someone else's opinion, after all, they may be knowledgeable. ]

What would you suggest?

☉ BATH AND BOOZE

[ Later, Azem can be found soaking in one of the public baths, a small tray with a couple of cups and hot sake set up within reach. They look thoroughly relaxed, practically melting into the steaming hot water.

So relaxed, in fact, that they don't immediately notice anyone joining in the bath. When they finally do they lift their head and offer a smile. ]

[Ah, the arcade... He certainly had an... Interesting time... with Gilgamesh there. Rhea'li taps his chin.]

Have you heard of the Oca Street Bathhouse? 'Tis located in this district. I am told the venue is the best for relaxation and wellness.

[A grin.]

As we are friends with people who have difficulty grasping the meaning of relaxation, 'tis simply our duty to investigate appropriate recreational activities they would enjoy, no?

[starshepard]

[ Azem looks a little surprised by the suggestion. ] I don't believe I've heard of such a place, we should certainly investigate it.

[ They can't help but grin as well. ] Aye, for the sake of our poor overworked friends.

Lead the way.

[lightduties]

[And so he does, leading the way through streets brightly lit with neon signs.

Since he no longer needs to keep with the charade of not knowing anything of the star Azem is familiar with, Rhea'li asks-]

I'm aware Azem is your title as one of the Convocation. Will you allow me the honour of knowing your name?

[starshepard]

[ Azem tries to pay attention to the path they take. Despite their exploration, they still haven't familiarized themself with the city as much as they'd like. ]

Hmm? [ They blink, their attention returning to him. They would question how he knows but they did spend time with Elidibus while he was using his true name. And they suppose that perhaps Hades had told him that much at some point. ]

Mmm, perhaps. [ They respond in something of a sing-songy tone. ]

[lightduties]

[Rhea'li hums. Azem isn't going to make it so easy, huh? He ought to have expected that.

A grin.]

Will I need to spar you again for it?

[starshepard]

Oh, I like the sound of that. [ They can't help but grin. ]

Perhaps we can go a bit harder at it this time. [ Their grin only grows wider. ]

[lightduties]

[And look at that! The Oca Street Bathhouse is right here!

Rhea'li grins, remembering Azem's enthusiastic responses to one of his previous AI generated Cybercharm profiles.]

At sparring?

[Rhea'li gestures at the bathhouse's outdoors advertising of its most famous options, including public or private rooms for pleasure. He grins, wide.]

[ Azem opens their mouth to respond before closing it as they take in the options the bathhouse has to offer. ]

Why not both?

[ They respond after a moment, grinning at Rhea'li. ]

[Rhea'li can't help but laugh loudly, drawing some looks from passerby's briefly.]

Strange? Hardly.

[He grew up amongst Limsan sailors. Fighting and fucking go hand in hand.

He enters the bathhouse, waiting for Azem to follow after him before gesturing towards the reception counter.]

So, what will it be?

[starshepard]

[ Rhea'li's laugh draws a chuckle from Azem. ] Hah, that is good.

[ Were those Limsan sailors looking to fool around with the ancient version of their soul? ]

One of the private rooms sounds nice. What would be an invigorating scent, however? [ They continue to look thoughtfully at the menu. ]

[Those Limsan sailors were and did-

Rhea'li taps his chin as he looks over the list. He doesn't ponder long over the options; after all, one doesn't know the 'best' choice until they have already made them. If it turns out to be an unpleasant option, well, at least he'll get a laugh and story out of it later?]

Mayhap the energizing citrus blend?

[It sounds like the one that would keep them most animated.]

[starshepard]

[ Well, then. ]

That sounds wonderful. [ As if Azem needs anything to help with their energy.

Once everything is sorted out they're shown where to change and given all they need to relax at the bathhouse before being shown to their prepared room. Azem breathes in deep as they and Rhea'li are left alone in the room. ]

Ah, that is a nice scent.

[lightduties]

[ooc: I'm thinking maybe their private room has like, a hot tub?]

[It is rather nice, isn't it? Rhea'li's ears and tail flick in silent agreement while he undresses, eager to try the heated waters of their private room. As he completely sheds his clothes and puts them safely aside, revealing the sun tattooed onto his left shoulder and the purple tattoo stamped into his lower back upon his entry into Magisteria.

Without hesitation, he steps into the hot tub and lets out a delighted noise as the jets of warm water hit his legs.]

You made a marvellous choice, Azem.

[Immediately, he ducks the rest of his body into the warm water and closes his eyes blissfully, looking as contented in the swirling water as a cat catching rays of sunshine.]

Have you tried aught like this before?

[ Azem's a bit more haphazard about their undressing and simply leaving their clothing wherever they end up. They're perhaps still a bit too accustomed to using magic to clean up or dry their clothing.

Freckles were once the only thing that marked Azem's skin, so they can't help but stare at Rhea'li's tattoos. They do have one of their own, now. A red mark just below their chest that may be familiar to him as it is part of their summoning circle. ]

I'm glad to hear that.

[ Azem soon joins him, letting out a contented sound as they sink into the water. ]

Not quite like this, no. We do have bathhouses back home but they lack such movement. [ They motion toward one of the jets. ]

[Rhea'li not so inconspicuously eyes the mark below Azem's chest, recognising the pattern that he's called upon more and more since he came into possession of the crystal made in their memory.

He turns so the shoulder with the sun tattoo is facing Azem, the corner of his mouth curled up in a sly smile.]

[ There's maybe a little more than just that mark to eye up, after all the top part runs up between Azem's moderately sized breasts. Their form is that of a person who sees a lot of activity, muscular but not bulky.

The sun tattoo is met with a soft, possibly amused huff. ]

Did you know when you were marked with this? [ About them, they mean, the symbol of their seat.

The question is accompanied by Azem's fingers trailing over the design. ]

[He is looking Respectfully.

Rhea'li shakes his head.]

Nay. I found out only recently, you know.

[Which is rather strange to realise. So much had happened, he'd forgotten just how little time, in comparison to all else that had occurred during his journey, that he'd known about the true nature of Ascians and what that entailed.]

This was from the time before I had titles. [He lifts a hand to touch Azem's fingers dancing over his sun tattoo.] Before, when I only thought of food, drink, and the next place I would sail to.

A funny little coincidence then. [ Azem chuckles. ]

So what drew you to such a symbol?

[ Their hand turns, taking his so they can give it a little squeeze. Rhea'li will find that Azem is the tactile sort. They enjoy holding hands and little touches with it meaning little more than physical closeness. ]

A sailor! The sights you must have seen at sea.

bath and trouble

[Sparkle is naked, not seeming to care enough about modesty for a towel, but she does seem to have decided that being naked is visually boring, because there are a trio of goldfish made of light swimming in circles around her. They're not hiding anything, they're just... an accessory? Her mask is still on her head, of course.

She perches on the edge of the bath, dangling her feet in the water, and cocks her head to one side, looking Azem over inquisitively. They have interesting hair.]

Is it good? Or interesting?

[starshepard]

[ If Sparkle's nudity was a problem, Azem certainly isn't showing it. They're naked too as one should be when in a bath. It doesn't matter if said bath seems to be meant for a relaxing soak rather than actual bathing, but that's neither here nor there.

They tilt their head in their new companions condition, one glowing blue eye cracked open as they take her in. ]

I like your fish.

[ As for the drink. ] I would say both as we do not have anything quite like this back home.

[Sparkle grins.]

Thanks! I thought they made it a little more fun.

[And as to that, it's hard to know what that means, not knowing where they're from, isn't it?]

I suppose I'll try it, then! I like new things and interesting things.

I'm Sparkle. What's your name?

I think I have to agree with that.

[ Azem decides to add a fish of their own to Sparkle's. However, their fish is that of the jellyfish variety, a glowing blue creature that undulates its way through the air. ]

Excellent. [ They pour her a cup and pass it over while responding to her question. ]

I am known as Azem. 'Tis a pleasure to meet you Sparkle. [ They offer a bright smile. ]

[Sparkle lights up with delight when Azem adds their jellyfish--literally as well as metaphorically, pink sparks crackling off of her hair and mask. She laughs and claps her hands, kicking her feet gleefully, which may splash a little.]

Oh, you're playing too! I love it!

[It's so rare that someone is actually willing to play along with her.]

My pleasure, Azem!

[It doesn't miss her notice that Azem didn't say that was their name, only what they're known as--but she is more than happy to respect a stage name!]

Have you been here long? The city, I mean, not the bathhouse, but that too I suppose.

It only felt right.

[ The crackle of pink sparkles is rather cute and Azem can't help but smile.

If she were to ask, Azem would explain their title though it is unlikely they'd given their true name. After all, who they once were is essentially dead once one becomes a member of the Convocation.

Azem hums thoughtfully as they sip their drink. ]

It's been a few turns of the moons now. [ A silly way to phrase it when they don't even have a moon back home (don't ask how that works). ]
