A Meeting Commences

🌠 Prepare for the Symphony of Disruption 🌠

ALL Otherworlders, regardless of their current place of habitation, are called to the following meeting within a chamber deep inside of Evergreen Terrace apartments in High Rise Village.

Upon entering the chamber, there is presented the following real-time holographic broadcast. The figure in the middle speaks:

This is Astris Luxia T3-EM, speaking on behalf of the Council for Technological Advancement, arbiter of the rights of all technologically-augmented and technologically derived citizens of Magisteria, and the rights of all inorganic beings and organically based lifeforms interfacing with advanced technology.

The Council for Technological Advancement has received news within the Aetherium District of the goings-on of High Rise Village, specifically the destruction of the former Aetherion Labs, the encounters with the technological entities who disregard our city-state's laws, known as the Fractured, as well as the anarchist, Phantom Cipher.

We of the Council for Technological Advancement issue a reminder that DISRUPTION IS NOT PERMITTED WITHIN THE CITY-STATE OF MAGISTERIA. Those who seek to do harm to our city-state will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Arwyn Valethorn, as the arbiter of High Rise Village, it falls to your jurisdiction to terminate these goings-on before matters escalate into the Aetherium District. Should such escalation occur, the CTA will have no choice but to take matters into our own hands.

As the arbiter of High Rise Village, I answer in the affirmative. Activities which threaten the peace of our city-state will not be tolerated.

If you will excuse me, venerable members of the CTA, the Otherworlders have just arrived.

Otherworlders . . . I have invited you here that we may at long last meet. I am Arwyn Valethorn, the proprietor and creator of Evergreen Terrace. I had been intending to meet with you all at High Rise Expo, our annual event show-casing the finest developments in advanced technology, yet due to the instability of my district, that event has been indefinitely postponed and effectively cancelled, much to the displeasure of us all, including our pre-eminent friends in the Council for Technological Advancement.

I do apologize for the time it has taken me to return and meet with you properly. Certain business has kept me rather preoccupied, as you may have guessed. Yet you have now met with those in my domain or employment, such as Malik, Ava, Atlas, Soraya, and the fae girls. I am also responsible for financing and creating the sky lounge alongside Passion, my colleague and business partner. The motif and designs of that place, as well as these apartments, can all be traced to me. Indeed, there is nothing which happens in High Rise Village that falls outside of my scope of Authority.

Let me be direct: I am certain that the recent antagonism we have encountered from these underground criminal groups are directly in response to me. It is no coincidence that they have been emboldened to act first at a time when I was away on business, and now when the autumnal and winter season cause the powers of the supernatural Undercity to grow in strength.

But let us now discuss plans for the safeguarding of High Rise Village. The protection of one district is, after all, the protection of all Magisteria.

On Arwyn, Their Powers/Identity

The Authority of Arwyn is High Rise Village itself. Their power(s) are related to perfection: Absolute Perfection and Perfection Embodied. In the presence of Arwyn and their Bios, all beings, all magic, all technology, and even the landscape and terrain itself functions at an enhanced level, constituting the embodiment of perfection. Rather than dealing directly with the magical or technological divide of Magisteria, Arwyn crafts potions and gems which are as close to neutral as one can get with Bios, and uses these to accomplish various feats; Evergreen Terrace, for example, was built by Arwyn's powers used in conjunction with the Absolute Perfection of mechanical engineers and with a kind of techno-magical terraforming ability, nature-weaving, programming the bougainvillea to grow or the ponds to flourish according to Arwyn's plans and desires.

The true depth of Arwyn's powers and their vast repository of enhanced relics and treasures may be unknown to all but perhaps their closest companions, yet it is also known that their influence stretches over the magic of the gifts Otherworlders have received in Magisteria. In many ways, and to many people, the consequences of defying Arwyn's will are seen as far more frightening than any criminal elements in Magisteria, and in turn, if there is one individual the criminal elements fear, it is certain to be Arwyn, who tolerates nothing that interferes with the concept of Absolute Perfection in High Rise village.

Event Specifics: Light Sentinels, Gifts, Event-Granted Powers

During the autumn and winter season, a vulnerability occurs because the dark powers of the Supernatural Undercity grow in strength, giving brief windows of time when, in aggregate, certain forces may be able to oppose Arwyn's powers/control of High Rise Village. Generally speaking, this has not been a problem throughout the years, because the Undercity is essentially a neutral power. However, the presence of rogue elements throughout the last few months suggests that something has led to pockets of criminal agitation taking hold in the Undercity. How exactly these rogue/criminal elements are cooperating with the powers of the Undercity or how they've developed and taken hold in the first place... has yet to be revealed, but it may go far deeper than any yet knows.

For this event, Arwyn will give five Otherworlders of a "do-gooder" character gems imbued with their power. These gems will grant them the identity of Light Sentinels, impervious to corruption. These Otherworlders will be able to rescue their corrupted/"Altered" comrades. How they do that is up to the player's discretion! Be creative, folks!

All Otherworlders will receive one final, special gift upgrade and a special prompt for this event. That is to say that in addition to the event prompts, each character will be given some unique way that they will be tasked with contributing to the overall event. For corrupted characters, this will generally be something they achieve after being "fixed"/returned to their normal selves, but characters can also be given destructive roles overall if they wish. The point is that everyone gets something personalized.

For the plotting, know that this event will feature High Rise Village being overrun by spoopy supernatural creatures, digital hallucinations, various technological infrastructure issues, giant mecha and android type beasties, elemental destruction (ex: fires, tornadic activity). The special roles each character receives will be tied to dealing with these various issues, and someone(s) will need to be tech/hacker geniuses of various sorts in addition to needing magic users to deal with the above difficulties. Also, for plotting, keep in mind that the Synthesis mechanic can be used to develop dual powers among individuals, which may be especially useful in this event.

Finally, the event will be a two-parter, as an intense event. So again, your plotting can run the gamut from "character goes Problematic and becomes destructive" to "Big Damn Hero moment." Mod will work with you.

Final Gift Upgrade: HERE, but you can also reply here for that if you wish. This will go along with the event-given powers, so you may want to factor it into your plotting.

Hey there. Name's Fey and this dude here, Sunny, just arrived. He's kind of made of glass right now, both mentally and physically (He's a walking TW, so please do check opt outs here and Permission posts here for more details.) so my plans were to take things slow with him but oh boi, it seems like he joined at the perfect time.

He's been trying to settle down since his arrival, probably, and I can see him doing very important things like trying to understand the place he's in and collecting fluorescent stickers to attach to his apartment walls- so what's better than having him as a possibly corrupted one? In the dream world he lived on he walked around as 'Omori', a stronger, better version of himself and I wouldn't mind his corruption to be tied to that. I'm keeping it as simple as possible not to cause discomfort, but Omori is someone really good with knives and who can use 'red hands' to attack- as Sunny imagined himself in the dream, omori is very strong (unlike his real world counterpart).

Considering his grasp on reality is... okay at best (He still has hallucinations and some issues in telling what's true or not), it could be something as simple as Sunny seeing things differently and thinking he's being the hero of his own story or him losing himself- I'm open to pretty much anything. Overall I can write both lighthearted or rather dark stuff, so I'd rather match the intensity of my writing partners. But, yeah, despite Sunny being an actually sweet (and rather weak) kid? I'd love him to cause some problems (So he can then at least find motivation in trying to make up for them). Overall, everyone is welcome to come and stop him.

I plan to go absolutely bonkers with Lucy's corruption and make her into some wild spider-themed hybrid of organics and way too much cyberware who can get inside anybody's head with a mix of cyberware and corrupted Bios. Very much an au where she got attacked by too many corrupted ai as a kid and it fucked her up and gave her even worse control issues so now she's a supervillain who tries to control the world from a web of cybergear

Anybody is of course welcome to try to talk her down from this! She'll also be available to try to help others with their corruption, likely a futile attempt because she's not one of the Light Sentinels

For the rest of the event, she'll be focusing on dealing with the various tech monsters and leaving the magic stuff to the magic people, because how does someone even deal with ghosts? She has no idea

Anyway, we gotta have Lucy and Tenma meet, at some point. Either fighting and de-corrupting Spider-Lucy or just at any point during the chaos so she can meet her crush's other self, especially after Musashi told her she wouldn't change.

I vote for fighting each other, because even corrupted Lucy will still have feelings, and therefore will still have feelings about Musashi having changed-- and then if we're really ambitious, we could have post-corruption Lucy meeting Tenma again later and being more level-headed and less fighty about the whole thing, but still having an amount of feelings about meeting Musashi's other aspect lmao

I am very much in favour of that! Both the fighting and the meet-up later on. Tenma would want to clear the air before she goes back to sleep (she is also a Mushy shipper and wants it to work out for them so she'll try to smooth things over for her other self once she's back in control). XD

So Musashi's going to try an unorthodox approach to avoid being corrupted; namely, by using her arrival gift to preempt her own corruption by voluntarily shifting herself before Phantom Cipher can get to her, switching her class as Amber stated, from Berserker back to Saber.

Saber Musashi (who based on some stuff from F/GO I will refer to as "Tenma" to differentiate her from Berserksashi) is effectively an alternate persona that's been sleeping inside Musashi since she arrived, and her coming back out is sort of an emergency thing. She's more focused and less impulsive and flighty than Musashi, and will be made available to fight people who are corrupted and help bring them back around. She may also be taking Vash's place as a Light Sentinel.

There's also Another Thing in the works, but that still requires some plotting out between me and Amber so please look forward to it!

I MEAN if you're interested in punching a teen who'll power up and go his 'dream self' mode, I can offer this fragile guy as a corrupted version of himself. He'll have horror-like vibes and I'm pretty much sure we can be corrupted more than once? Maybe? So I wouldn't mind a fight thread where your character ends up looking super badass by the end.

'Omori' can be scary and creepy looking but duh!

Hello, everyone!!! my name is Roxy and I bring in a very angry and very explosive spiky blond here! This is Bakugou Katsuki, from My Hero Academia! He is a loud, abrasive, rude, and not-so-nice individual from a glance, but he is actually a very good boy under all his piss and vinegar and makes for a hell of a loyal friend once he warms up to someone. His canon is basically shounen superhero teenagers, and with that comes Katsuki's "quirk" - his canon superpower - which is aptly named Explosion. He sweats a substance with a similar chemical makeup like nitroglycerin and can detonate it one command. Because he's coming from farther along in canon, instead of just using his hands/palms to make the boomies, he can now do so from ANY part of his body. Even his mouth.

Don't ask me how that works. \:)/

ANYWAY, my plan for Katsuki this event is basically he's going to immediately go into Hero Mode and try to keep as many people safe by kicking ass and taking names - his favorite part of the job. I'm not certain how he will combat the corruption, but it is canon that he has an indomitable will, so perchance he will just be stubborn and not go down to it easily. I'm shit at plotting, wheeze, I just make this stuff up as I go. ;A; If possible though, I'd love for him to remain uncorrupted for his first event gnjkfhvhd. I would prefer to be kind to him on his first stint in the game. Let him acclimate before throwing him into the fire.

OH!! He is also a CRAU from his previous game, Labyrinthum, so he does have some experience with the whole multiverse thing and just...casual nonsense happening like this. So he's not a fresh fish out of water, just hopped from one pond to another, heehoo.

SO. Roxy, has Bakugou ever entertained the idea of punching a teen who is usually barely able to open jam jars and such?. I do offer you a corrupted Sunny who may or may not see the world as it is and may or may not attack easily? I don't mind on them developing a negative CR, in case (Are they even living next to each other after the TDM?), but I think it'd be fun to go ham with his dream powers and have Bakugou defeat him in some epic way? I mean, we can plan it further but I'm 100% down for Sunny having his arse kicked.

HE HAS, BUT THAT WAS IN THE PAST WHEN HE WAS WAY MORE OF A PIECE OF SHIT AND HE DOES TRY TO NOT DO THAT THESE DAYS IF HE HAS TO...though lbr, he will if it's the only way to save someone. Sadly MHA-verse is very much a "Heroes can't kill, but they sure can BEAT YOU WITHIN AN INCH OF YOUR FUCKIN LIFE" type of shounen, so yeaaahhh... He will try to go with non-lethal hits so Sunny will be bruised and achy, but he won't like...have broken bones or whatever. Worst case scenario is he'll be blinded for an hour or two from a flash-bang/stun bomb.

And sob, he probably won't remember Sunny very well, even if they are neighbors. It's canon he is shit with names and faces unless they ping on his radar, but who knows. It depends on how our TDM thread goes pfft (if you wanna continue it).

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO EMBRACE YOUR DREAMS, BUDDY! COME SMASH SUNNY'S FACE WITH YOUR- what is it again? explosive sweat? kinda gross but ok. BUT YEAH. So fully open to the idea of a fight where Sunny will inevitably lose after some kind of epic battle! As for non recognizing him, absolutely fine! I'm planning to have him look like Omori for this: he'll be cooler, not look sickly at best, still have two eyes. Hard to recognize. I can also throw in all kinds of villain-looking effects around him since omori's realm is basically 'dreams' and we're supposed to go 'ham' with this. I'd just like to know what kind of thread you'd like becuase I can go very silly or very dark or in between and I'd rather not upset anyone.

He probably won't use his quirk, lmfao, it's uh...way too volatile to use against someone who's basically a normal ass person and not NEARLY as durable as a shounen character, lbr. But he does still know basic hand-to-hand combat and like...bruh, have you seen this boy? He's JACKED for an eighteen year old. He will knock Sunny out, fffff.

And yup, I've played Omori, so i know the differences between the two. I also think Omori is also younger? I'm not too certain on that one, but Katsuki will only vaguely remember/recognize either of them. It really depends how our TDM thread goes like I said. If Sunny ticks on Katsuki's radar, he'll remember him. If not...it's very likely he won't.

and yesss, using the Hikikomori horror elements would be super cool. and would force Katsuki to use his quirk, probably.

Well, no quirk with Sunny, sure, he'd turn into the Petr Griffin Dead Meme in a second and half. But Omori, at least in theory, isn't Sunny. He's cooler and handsomer and stronger and has very Red Hands. (Or that's what Sunny likes to tell himself). Since we're supposed to go ham, I can totally jack up the horror elements in the hikikomori route style? You know, to get your character to look as badass as humanly possible while fighting him? Also, listen, I'm 100% down for Sunny to be knocked out as long as he doesn't straight up die (He is literally new here, I will show him some mercy.)

Yeah, Omori is around 12. Also RIP Sunny, he's not exactly the most memorable person out there.

I vote for Katsuki to come fight corrupted Lucy, because while Lucy isn't much of a combat-class-haver, her corrupted self will be able to get into people's heads in a big way and essentially hack them, which could be an interesting clash and challenge for Katsuki 👀

Hi guys, I promise I'm not dead. Adulting took over a lot of my time the past few months so I've definitely put RP on the back burner for a while. But, I'm back and hopefully with a second wind. I'm going to do both of my characters' plotting in this thread to make it easier on myself, sorry about that.

Ratio: He's tech path, and will be doing his best to help with the tools he has... I know he has a bursterfly from before, but I'm unsure what else he'll have in his armory. He's also a medical doctor (this man has too many academic credentials, I stg.) I don't know what his corrupted form might look like... except if I go a 'what if Ratio was a Stoneheart' path. Which might be fun. Highly educated with no morals...

Libra: I volunteered him to be one of the Light Sentinels, but until he's needed there, he'll be doing his healing job. Because this man has too much good in his soul. So, if anyone's going to get their stuffing kicked in and want a healer to show up, he's your man, lol.

Mh. I'm as I am offering to everyone else, I can offer Omori either as corrupted person to *fight* (Sunny's dream self. Actually cooler and stronger and better than how he is in the real world, the 'person' he will be during corruption) so your character can end up being super cool (Listen, it's fun being 'the villain' and being defeated in some kind of epic battle, ok?) *or* Libra/Ratio could patch him together after one of said battles when people are done bringing him back (since they seem more medically oriented?). Whtever you think it could be funnier for your character, if you feel like it!

Also, worry not about... not being overly present? I've seen your talks in discord, I get that IRL can be a lot at times!
