Agrarian Enclave: The Oca Street Bathhouse

This mingle is OTA and can be used like a mini-TDM or meme!

This is another mingle set in Magisteria's Agrarian Enclave, or the Agriculture District. For maximum thirst, it can be combined with the first Enclave mingle, specifically the ambrosial honey. Visitors are welcome to play it as their characters exploring both, either individually or together!

Known throughout the district as a haven for relaxation and wellness, the Oca Street Bathhouse features luxurious hot springs, invigorating steam rooms, and therapeutic pools infused with herbal extracts, all housed in/among rooms with soft, ambient lighting. Visitors may select from among a wide number of "Aqua Aromatics" to produce different sensory experiences.

The Oca Street Bathhouse also offers an impressive number of massage options derived from Otherworlders' ancestral cultures. Whatever your desire, every aspect of the bathhouse is fully customizable for all patrons, lending to a wholesale self-care experience.

[Below are some ideas to get everyone started, though players are of course free to make up their own massage options, bathing rituals, and aromatics! A world like Magisteria would of course have options beyond those from Earth history, but I kept it simple here. Again, feel free to add more!]

Pleasures of all sorts may become quite real within the sensuous sensory-rich environs. Citizens of diverse backgrounds visit this place. Waterfolk of various kin, but also mundane normie humans, elves, faeries, and even some on the tech-forward side.

PCs are free to handwave interactions with amorous locals or with workers at the establishment, who are trained in full-service massage+pleasure work. Random one-off NPCs can be made for this purpose in the location, so go wild! ♥

Plot Key

At some point, Otherworlders might encounter a worker who looks a little uncertain. She’s conversing with elf guy (likely also a worker there).

Otherworlders may overhear the worker say that lately certain of their clientele had been behaving a bit strangely. Unfamiliar women arriving and … there was talk of induction into some group. Otherworlders will overhear her saying she did manage to collect digital business cards for certain individuals/the organization.

If Otherworlders listen closely, they’ll hear concern: these people were kind of giving off… culty vibes.

PCs are free to approach and ask about those business cards... Simply reply to "Plot Key" below.

[Rhea'li can't help but laugh loudly, drawing some looks from passerby's briefly.]

Strange? Hardly.

[He grew up amongst Limsan sailors. Fighting and fucking go hand in hand.

He enters the bathhouse, waiting for Azem to follow after him before gesturing towards the reception counter.]

So, what will it be?

Make another monument to his sadness at the bottom of the river, mayhaps.

Rhea'li hums at the question. Emet-Selch probably doesn't want to know just how well they're 'getting along'...

"Well enough. They were as critical of my cooking as you." The cryptocarp truly are not meant to be consumed, are they? "'Tis a relief to speak more frankly with them, now they know. We truly share many similarities..."

~~Don't be silly, the river is far too shallow for that--~~

"Of course you do," he says matter-of-factly. "Your experiences may differ but the soul itself is immutable."

Is it any surprise now that he had looked so longingly at the Warrior of Light? In Rhea'li, he had seen an echo of his old friend.

Shifting in place, he leans forward with his elbows on his knees. The heat is making him doze pleasantly. "Mayhap now Azem can take you on their adventures instead of bothering me all the time."

Rhea'li lets out a huff of a laugh. "I'm afraid you'll not wriggle out of that so easily."

The tip of his tail twitches behind him, the rest of it laying over his legs in a clear picture of relaxation.

"Would it be so bothersome going on adventures with them? You have time, now."

Time that was once lost to him.

Musashi's own tattoo is harder to see, being on the back of her right shoulder. A spiderlily, coloured in a deep red, like the flower that adorns her kimono.

"I didn't actually know him all that well. Another Master had dealings with him, and we had dealings with that guy. Sort of a chain, you could say." Musashi admits. "Though I did stop by his shop a few times. He was one of those irregular classes you get sometimes." She takes another deep drink, trying to remember the name. "...Ahh, a Ruler. That's it. But to be honest, he didn't seem interested in overseeing the Waxing Moon Ritual at all. Mostly he just focused on running his shop of rare and unusual antiquities. Heard he did all right, all things considered."

There's something very Gilgamesh about being summoned as the overseer of a Holy Grail War, or something very much like it, and deciding he'd actually rather just pursue the path of a successful businessman instead.

Azem perks up, eyes widening at the offer. Whatever he meant to say after is ignored in favor of being able to see what he's seen. They move closer, stopping only once there is very little empty space left between them.

"I would like that very much." They smile brightly at him.

[ Rhea'li's laugh draws a chuckle from Azem. ] Hah, that is good.

[ Were those Limsan sailors looking to fool around with the ancient version of their soul? ]

One of the private rooms sounds nice. What would be an invigorating scent, however? [ They continue to look thoughtfully at the menu. ]

Ah. Azem is suddenly very close. He glances at them without thinking and immediately regrets it when heat starts to fill his cheeks.

"R-right. Well... Which region do you wish to see first?" he stammers.

[Those Limsan sailors were and did-

Rhea'li taps his chin as he looks over the list. He doesn't ponder long over the options; after all, one doesn't know the 'best' choice until they have already made them. If it turns out to be an unpleasant option, well, at least he'll get a laugh and story out of it later?]

Mayhap the energizing citrus blend?

[It sounds like the one that would keep them most animated.]

Azem thinks little of their current naked and wet situation. They're much more focused on what Hades can show them.

"I wouldn't know where to begin so I leave that to you." The urge to tease them does bubble up, but perhaps later they can do that. For now, they want to see the world he's seen.

[ Well, then. ]

That sounds wonderful. [ As if Azem needs anything to help with their energy.

Once everything is sorted out they're shown where to change and given all they need to relax at the bathhouse before being shown to their prepared room. Azem breathes in deep as they and Rhea'li are left alone in the room. ]

Ah, that is a nice scent.

He stares pensively at the tiled floor. "I do have time now. And I do wish to go on a journey with them once more..."

He'll say 'yes' to them, he suspects, despite his complaints.

"That said, I need my rest. Azem has...boundless energy. I cannot be with them all the time."

Seeing that Azem is not taking advantage of their present circumstances, he settles himself and clears his throat. Thank goodness because that may taint the memory he shows them.

"Alright." He reaches up, gently turns their head towards his so their foreheads can rest against one another. "This is a memory of a desert land and two kingdoms which fought over its sparse resources..."

Using the power of what has come to be known as the Echo, Hades shows his old friend a vision of Thanalan in the days of the Ul'dahn and Si'dihn empires. The days before the two sister cities were in open conflict.

Heat waves rise visibly off the dunes. 'Hades' treks as part of a longer merchant convoy making its way to do trade with Sil'dih. Even with tensions building between the two, it has not yet exploded into outright conflict. Hades hopes to change that.

"O-oh..." Fidgeting, Erichthonios' face grows progressively redder. "I-I. T-thank you. You are... very kind."

If mayhap also slightly terrifying for reasons he cannot quite pin down.

"Aye, and for better or for worse, it may have inspired similar flying creations. The flying shark, for example."

He's not sure if that one ultimately passed the assessment for fitness for distribution. Hopefully, if it did, it is a smaller shark. Something large with that many sharp teeth flying about would surely be a source of untold numbers of problems... particularly since more than one iteration of the concept had a habit of test biting... pretty much everything.

[ooc: I'm thinking maybe their private room has like, a hot tub?]

[It is rather nice, isn't it? Rhea'li's ears and tail flick in silent agreement while he undresses, eager to try the heated waters of their private room. As he completely sheds his clothes and puts them safely aside, revealing the sun tattooed onto his left shoulder and the purple tattoo stamped into his lower back upon his entry into Magisteria.

Without hesitation, he steps into the hot tub and lets out a delighted noise as the jets of warm water hit his legs.]

You made a marvellous choice, Azem.

[Immediately, he ducks the rest of his body into the warm water and closes his eyes blissfully, looking as contented in the swirling water as a cat catching rays of sunshine.]

Have you tried aught like this before?

"I merely speak my mind," Azem says with a languid stretch before rising from the water with little thought for their current state of undress.

"I'm feeling a little thirsty so I'll leave you to your soak." They grin at him as they leave the water and grab their towel.

[ Azem's a bit more haphazard about their undressing and simply leaving their clothing wherever they end up. They're perhaps still a bit too accustomed to using magic to clean up or dry their clothing.

Freckles were once the only thing that marked Azem's skin, so they can't help but stare at Rhea'li's tattoos. They do have one of their own, now. A red mark just below their chest that may be familiar to him as it is part of their summoning circle. ]

I'm glad to hear that.

[ Azem soon joins him, letting out a contented sound as they sink into the water. ]

Not quite like this, no. We do have bathhouses back home but they lack such movement. [ They motion toward one of the jets. ]

They have a sufficient distraction from their usual teasing nature, exploration, and new discoveries will always trump that.

Azem rests their forehead against his and closes their eyes as Hades shares the memory with him. There's a giddiness welling up at them may very well be felt by him.

They aren't sure what to expect but the hazy dunes of a desert nation are as good as anything he could have shown them. They're eager to see more but they don't push, they let the memory play out while taking in the sights, sounds, and scents.

[Rhea'li not so inconspicuously eyes the mark below Azem's chest, recognising the pattern that he's called upon more and more since he came into possession of the crystal made in their memory.

He turns so the shoulder with the sun tattoo is facing Azem, the corner of his mouth curled up in a sly smile.]

Like what you see? You needn't ask to have a closer look.

The merchant convoy reaches Sil'dih without incident and Hades - although that is not the name he responds to when the other traders hail him - quickly slips away as soon as he's paid his escort fee. The desert city is rich with vibrant, criss-crossing tapestries overhead (a measure against the blistering sun) but he has to be incredibly mindful of its dimimuitive population: Lalafel.

Through his eyes, Hades shows Azem the properous city. Yet conversations overheard as he meanders by tell of an uncertain future. The citizens mutter of a potential Ul'dahn incursion, but Hades hastily glosses over most of those. He doesn't want to remind Azem that he had only been in the city to see to its ruin.

Eventually he reaches the Sil'dih palace and it is a marvel to behold, hewn from sandstone and proudly bearing its silver coat of arms. One can
assume the inside must be just as magnificent as the outside. Unfortunately, the Echo forcibly draws to a close as Hades begins to walk towards it.

The city is beautiful to Azem, so foreign yet somehow familiar. The thing that interests them most is the Lalafell. Azem is immediately enraptured by their small stature and cute appearance, wanting to know anything and everything about them. Alas, they only get the little snippets as Hades, not Hades, walks by.

The palace is just as beautiful, as everything else they've been shown. However, the memory is cut short.

Azem lets out a frustrated noise and pushes their forehead against Hades'. If he opens his eyes he'll be met with the rather close up and pouting face of Azem.

He winces and opens his eyes. He can guess the reason for Azem's pout immediately.

"What?" he asks defensively. "I wasn't there purely to sight-see. Do you really want to watch me bring that kingdom to ruin?"

Azem continues to pout for a moment before drawing back with a sigh. "No, I suppose not."

They lean back and close their eyes, staying like that until they speak again.

"Surely you have some memories to share that don't include you going to ruin a kingdom?" They ask while opening one eye to look at him out of the corner.

[ There's maybe a little more than just that mark to eye up, after all the top part runs up between Azem's moderately sized breasts. Their form is that of a person who sees a lot of activity, muscular but not bulky.

The sun tattoo is met with a soft, possibly amused huff. ]
