Sakura has to wonder whether he actually seeks an answer for this question or whether he's merely asking because the thought enters his mind. After all, how would she know? They are both just as new to this world and all that lies within it.

If this man can see souls and the true nature of things, then perhaps he can discern whether this light is a true signal or a false one? Might a false signal even exist? Really, Sakura thinks Emet probably has a better chance of making out the truth of their current circumstances than she does; or at least, she thinks he will be able to discern once they get a little closer, perhaps.
And as that goes, the closer they get, and the further they descend, the more she begins to apprehend the source of the light:
"A large blue gemstone..." she finds herself murmuring.
Like a giant opal streaked within and throughout with hues of blue.
