He was indeed a person of ancient times, but he had been summoned to modern environs, enough to have a general understanding of technology and what a programming language was. This was about as far as it went with him, though.
But, well, this was something which could be learned, yes? Gilgamesh might be at something of a disadvantage, but surely his aptitude for learning quickly -- as Lucy had observed -- would be an asset.
