Movie Night Heart-to-Heart (Closed)

Where: Evergreen Terrace, Lucy Kushinada's apartment.
Who: Lucy and Musashi
When: Likely after the high-risk event
What: Lucy and Musashi have a horror movie marathon, followed by a more personal conversation (may or may not take place on the rooftop if we feel like tormenting ourselves)
Warnings: Copious amounts of UST/longing/some Edgerunners-related Adam Smasher trauma/The David Martinez in the room.

Musashi doesn't scare easily as a Berserker. One of the perks of her particular brand of Madness Enhancement; she's too flighty, too impulsive, too reckless to be easily rattled by zombies or ghostly jump-scares.

And having fought real zombies in her time, movie ones just don't hold up very well after awhile.

Still, the idea of a curated horror movie marathon with a certain Edgerunner she'd made the friendship of held a great deal of appeal. And who knows, maybe Magisterian horror was a different cut. Maybe she would get a little frightened by one thing or another. A black cat leaping out of a cupboard without any attention ever being paid to how it got in there in the first place, or the slow, dawning horror of realizing a character in the film is no longer themselves...or worse, it's something else wearing their face.

At least she'll have someone to cling to in that case.

When Lucy opens the door, Musashi is standing in the hall, holding up a bag, in which glass bottles clink together. "What's up, choombarino? I brought drinks!" Horror's thirsty business after all.

She's taken to Magisterian fashions almost as well as she has Night City slang, too. The kimono needs some work done after ending up on the wrong end of a Twisted Tin, so she's settled for a midriff-exposing tanktop with an extremely, loudly colourful design plastered across it, as well as hotpants, sneakers and thigh-highs stockings in various neon shades, and a choker around her neck to replace her put-aside for now magatama. She doesn't appear to have given much thought to attempting to coordinate them colour-wise, though.

The sun is hanging low in the sky, but but the time they're finished, it'll be night. Maybe the moon will be out in full too.

"So, what're we startin' with?"

When Lucy had claimed her top-floor apartment, it had been styled like rooms from a few centuries ago, set at whatever random setting the building overseers had judged might entice people. The specific environment she picked to replace it was something called Neo-Tokyo, and it's close enough to home that its reassuring in its familiarity. Entirely open plan, floor-to-ceiling windows stretch around the entire front of the apartment, looking out over the city and its skyscrapers. The living room is closest to the corner, utilitarian grey couches gathered around a cluster of holograms. The bedroom is in the other corner, a low bed with dark blankets tucked in close to the window, while a balcony sits inbetween. A door leads to the only closed room, a bathroom, and the kitchen is small, which suits Lucy just fine, because she doesn't exactly cook.

Everything is in flat, sparse grey, highlighted with neon blue and purple lights that run horizontally across the ceiling, colored even more vibrantly with holograms at various points in the open rooms displaying different TV channels, ads, changing art. There are no knick-knacks yet, no books or plants or sentimental little items, just clean functionality.

When she opens the door to let Musashi in, her gaze lingers on her outfit, one eyebrow raising. That sure is a color scheme. Now she feels drab by comparison, in dark leggings and a simple white t-shirt hanging off one shoulder, more simple than her usual street gear. But the slang makes her roll her eyes with a tiny little hitch of a smile, so she lets Musashi in.

"I got plenty of snacks." They're all piled on the coffee table in front of the couches. It's been a while since-- no. She's never had a movie marathon with a friend. So. She's a little unsure she's doing it right. "And I found a bunch of movies from this world that people recommend, so we can pick. I thought... there's one about some period in faerie history that seemed cool, something to do with kings and queens and courts?"
